IlmHub is a complete Islamic website for one masjid, Islamic centre, organisation or community. Visitors read the Quran with translation and per-ayah recitation, browse graded hadith collections, check prayer times with a countdown, qibla compass and Ramadan timetable, follow duas and adhkar with a counter, listen to bayans, khutbahs, podcasts and live streams, read the journal, find a masjid with iqamah times and events, use zakat, inheritance, Hijri, names, tasbih and fasting tools and give to sadaqah projects with receipts. Members get My IlmHub: an ibadah tracker with streaks, khatam plans, reminders and saved items. The team runs everything from one admin panel with owner, admin, editor and moderator roles.

Built on Laravel 13 (PHP 8.3+) with a browser installer - the vendor folder is included, no Composer, Node.js or SSH needed. One installation is one website.

A Quran reader that recites with you

The Tanzil Uthmani Arabic text with the Pickthall English translation (public domain), surah, juz and page lists, search by reference, per-ayah recitation streamed from 13 reciters with the current ayah highlighted, repeat and speed, tajweed colour hints, a notes drawer for tafsir and study notes, bookmarks, reading position and khatam plans. More translations, tafsir and word-by-word data can be imported from JSON / CSV - only with a licence that allows publishing.

Prayer times, qibla and Ramadan

• Calculated in PHP: 16 methods, Standard or Hanafi Asr, high-latitude rules and per-prayer minute adjustments; visitors choose their own city and method
• Countdown to the next prayer, monthly timetable, calendar file, iqamah of nearby masjids
• Qibla bearing with a phone compass, Ramadan suhoor and iftar timetable, Hijri dates (Umm al-Qura with a +/- day setting)
• An embeddable widget (iframe or one script line) and a printable timetable for other websites

Bayans, khutbahs and live streams

Media items as uploaded MP3 / MP4 or YouTube / Vimeo links with chapters, subtitles and resume, recitations, podcasts with episodes, playlists, speaker profiles and a mini player that keeps playing across pages. Live streams embed YouTube Live or another platform with a countdown before and the recording after.

Duas, adhkar and everyday tools

• 41 duas in 12 categories with Arabic, transliteration, English and references; morning, evening, after-salah and sleep adhkar with a tap counter
• Zakat calculator with the nisab from your own gold and silver prices; inheritance (Mirath) calculator for guidance
• Hijri converter, Islamic names, tasbih counter, sunnah fasting dates with a qada tracker and fidya

Articles with an editorial review

A journal with categories, authors and references. Articles in categories that need review are approved by a second person before publishing; scheduling, comments with moderation and content reports, SEO fields, sitemap and schema markup.

Donations with receipts

• Sadaqah projects with goals, progress, updates and disbursement records; sadaqah, zakat and lillah gifts, on behalf of someone or anonymous
• Monthly giving as an honest reminder with a one-tap pay link (nothing is charged automatically)
• Stripe, PayPal, Paystack, PayHere, Razorpay and bank transfer with slip upload - every payment verified on the server, signed webhooks

My IlmHub for members

Today's prayers, the streak, the khatam plan, continue listening, the followed masjid's events and their giving on one dashboard; an ibadah tracker for prayers, fasts, Quran and adhkar with goals; reminders around prayer times by in-app notification, e-mail or browser push; saved items, receipts, notifications and data export. Sign-in with a one-time code or password (Google / Facebook when set up).

Good to know

• IlmHub is for one website (one masjid, centre or community). There are no other sellers, tenants or payouts.
• Recitation audio is streamed from the reciter URLs you set (everyayah.com by default); no audio is bundled.
• The shipped English translation is Pickthall (1930, public domain). Tafsir is import-only - no published tafsir is included; other translations and tafsir need a licence that allows publishing.
• Hadith: Forty Nawawi and Forty Qudsi are complete, the other collections are samples (462 hadith in total) - the full collections can be imported. Gradings come from the dataset.
• Browser push needs VAPID keys (one command creates them) and HTTPS; without them reminders use the in-app inbox and e-mail.
• Live streams are embeds of YouTube or another platform; there is no own streaming server.
• Monthly giving is a reminder with a pay link, not an automatic card subscription. Refunds are made in the gateway dashboard and recorded in IlmHub. Online payments need your own merchant accounts.
• Metal prices for the zakat nisab and currency rates are entered by you. The inheritance calculator is guidance only.
• Install on phone is a progressive web app (add to home screen). WhatsApp needs a Meta Cloud API number, SMS needs MSG91 or Twilio, e-mail needs SMTP.
• The demo articles, study notes, word-by-word sample and media are sample content, marked in the documentation.

Requirements at a glance

Support and updates

Support covers installation, configuration and bugs in the item. Server administration and custom development are not included.

Demo note: the live demo runs with demo mode on - settings, uploads and deletes are disabled, the daily flows (reading, listening, the tracker, adhkar, tools, following a masjid, RSVP, starting a donation up to the gateway) can be tried, and the demo data reloads every 6 hours.

Install

1. Create an empty MySQL / MariaDB database and user in your hosting panel and select PHP 8.3 or newer.
2. Upload the ilmhub folder and point your domain to its public folder - or upload its contents straight into public_html (with the hidden .htaccess files).
3. Open your-domain.com: the browser installer checks the server, asks for the database and creates your site, city and owner account (demo data optional; the Quran, hadith and duas are imported in short steps so shared hosts do not time out).
4. Sign in at /staff/login and go through Site setup (country, city, prayer method, Hijri calendar, currency), appearance, payment gateways, SMTP, receipts and tools settings, then add your speakers, masjids and content.
5. Add the cron job * * * * * cd /path/to/ilmhub && php artisan schedule:run for reminders, monthly giving reminders, reports and backups.

Updates

1. Back up, upload the update zip in Admin › System › System update (or copy the new files over the old ones; .env, storage and public/uploads are kept), then click Run update - your data is kept.
